- 2 oz apple brandy
- 1/4 oz sage syrup
- Dash of Angostura bitters
- Dash of grapefruit bitters (Fee’s Brothers)
- Garnish: Sage leaf
- Combine apple brandy, sage syrup, and bitters into a mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir for 15-20 seconds until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with one large ice cube. Garnish with a sage leaf.
HOW TO MAKE SAGE SYRUP
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a light boil and gently stir to dissolve sugar, then lower heat to low. Drop in 8-10 medium sage leaves, and simmer until aromatic. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve and discard the sage. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator, up to 2 weeks.
