Fun fact: a Moscow Mule was the first cocktail I learned how to make. Mixing three different ingredients together was so foreign to me, let alone doing it in a copper mug. Fast forward to now, this drink is still one of my favorite cocktails to make, especially during the summer months when temperatures in Phoenix reach up to 120* F. Brutal. I don’t want to talk about it.
Now, it’s the copper mug that enhances not only the presentation of the drink, but also the chill effect (is that a thing?). The copper helps keep the drink colder for a longer period of time, and makes the citrus flavor in the drink more prominent. Having a quality copper mug is always a plus when bartending at home.
- 2 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- Dash of Angostura bitters (optional)
- Top with Ginger Beer
- Using a copper mug, combine vodka, lime juice, and angostura bitters. Fill the mug with ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel.
